Be an astronaut for a day! By combining learning with fun, the Town of Ramapo Challenger Center allows 'kids' of all ages to experience what it is like to be an astronaut. Whether you come to the Challenger Center with a school class or scout trip, for a birthday party or public program, with a group of campers or fellow co-workers, our simulated but realistic space missions will take you on a journey you will never forget. Participating 'astronauts' conduct research, solve emergencies, and perform hands-on scientific experiments as they voyage to the Moon, Mars , or to a Comet. Tasks are detailed enough to feel real and challenging, but simple enough for even young kids to perform - and most of all they are fun! The Challenger Center's space missions are designed to provide authentic science and technology learning experiences that enhance teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Besides school  missions and after-school programs during the academic year, party missions can be arranged for just about any age, as well as scout missions, including overnights with additional badge activities. Public programs where the entire family can participate, and summer camp programs for kids are available too. A mission at the Challenger Center is an entertaining learning experience that will last a lifetime.
