Scout Missions

Let Your Scouts Experience The Thrill Of Being An Astronaut! Our Center offers a truly unique simulated space flight adventure, and a variety of activities to fulfill badge requirements for your scouts. We have programs for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Brownies! Call Today and Reserve An Out-Of-This-World Experience For Your Scout Troop.

  • Choose any of our three scenarios (Moon, Mars, or Comet) for your program's mission.
  • Choose from a variety of  badge requirement activities for your program.
  • Choose a planetarium presentation for an additional fee.
  • Max number of participants for Girl/Boy scout programs is 32.
  • Max number of participants for Brownie/Cub scout programs is 40.

To reserve one of our scout programs, a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 made payable to the “Town of Ramapo” is required to secure the date of the mission. Balance is due by cash, check or credit card on the day of the mission.

Brownie Program

Time: 1-hour mission in our NASA-designed spacecraft simulator, and one hour of  badge requirement activities. (Choose to earn a Brownie Space Explorer Badge or work toward earning the Brownie It’s Your Planet (Wonders of Water) Journey Badge.)

Cost: $350 (24 or fewer Brownies)
$450 (over 24 Brownies)

Girl Scout Junior & Cadette Programs

Program 1

Time: 2.5-hour mission in our NASA-designed mission control and spacecraft simulators. No badge requirement activities.

Cost: $350

Program 2

Time: 2.5-hour mission in our NASA-designed mission control and spacecraft simulators, and 2 hours of  badge requirement activities. (Choose to earn a Junior Girl Scout Space Explorer Badge or a Cadette Girl Scout Space Explorer Badge or work toward earning a Junior Girl Scout It’s Your Planet (Get Moving) Journey Badge or a Cadette It’s Your Planet (Breathe) Journey Badge.

Cost: $500

Program 3 - Overnight

Time: 5:00pm - 10:00am the following morning. Includes a 2.5-hour mission in our NASA-designed mission control and spacecraft simulators; space movies and games; and 2 hours of badge requirement activities. (Choose to earn a Junior Girl Scout Space Explorer Badge or a Cadette Girl Scout Space Explorer Badge or work toward earning a Junior Girl Scout It’s Your Planet (Get Moving) Journey Badge or a Cadette It’s Your Planet (Breathe) Journey Badge.)

Cost: $995

For the overnight, Scout troops are responsible for their own dinner and breakfast.
For Dinner - Dine at Applebees next door before your program begins or pizza can be delivered by Bella Vita (845-368-9777) to our Center. For Breakfast - Order food from Bagel Train (845-533-4659), Bagel Boys (845-368-3456), Starbucks (845-369-6959), or Airmont Eats (845-368-1973)

Cub Scout Programs

Program 1

Time: 1-hour mission in our NASA-designed spacecraft simulator, and 1 hour of engaging  badge requirement activities.

Cost: $350 (24 or fewer Cub Scouts)
$450 (over 24 Cub Scouts)

Program 2

Time: 1-hour mission in our NASA-designed spacecraft simulator, and 2 hours of engaging  badge requirement activities

Cost: $500 (24 or fewer Cub Scouts)
$600 (over 24 Cub Scouts)

Program 3 - Overnight

Time: 5:00pm - 10:00am the following morning. 1-hour mission in our NASA-designed spacecraft simulator, space movies and games, and 2 hours of engaging badge requirement activities

Cost: $995

For the overnight, Scout packs are responsible for their own dinner and breakfast.

badge requirement activities. (Choose to work toward the Space Exploration Merit Badge or the Astronomy Merit Badge).

Cost: $500

Program 3 - Overnight

Time: 5:00pm - 10:00am the following morning. Includes a 2.5-hour mission in our NASA-designed mission control and spacecraft simulators; space movies and games; and 2 hours of badge requirement activities. (Choose to work toward the Space Exploration Merit Badge or the Astronomy Merit Badge).

For Dinner - Dine at Applebees next door before your program begins or pizza can be delivered by Joey's Pizzeria (845-368-9777) to our Center. Upon prior arrangement, the Challenger Center can order pizza for delivery to the Center, and troops/packs can pay for the pizza upon delivery. Experience Our Planetarium!

Celebrate with the wonders of the Universe! Travel to the planets and moons of our Solar System, and learn the ancient myths about the constellations in the sky in our portable planetarium. For an additional fee, consider adding one of our planetarium shows to your program.
